Seems to be a bit of a warm sector at the moment, temp still at 2 degrees, dewpoints and temps should drop over next hour or so, which should enable showers to be proper snow rather than the sleety wet stuff we have had so far.

Not sure if ive just seen lightning

You did and I was standing in the middle of my field with my dogs, frightening the life out of me, so I ducked down as low as I could to walk and got back into a safer place!!!

Until late afternoon we'd missed out on the showers which were either to our north or south but they've started to cross here over the last couple of hours.

Snowing a bit now and starting to settle on the grass and cars but just a slushy mess on the drive.

Maybe a slight drop in temperatures and a more favourable alignment will give us something overnight but I can't see me getting more than a covering.

Light snow falling here, settling on cars/grassy area's, wet concrete having none of it though....... yet...  I expect high level area's to my East, (were you are saddleworthians?) will most likely be getting settling snow now?

Glad you've got a couple of inches. Its all green and grey here despite some heavy snow showers around lunchtime. Its currently snowing but nothing sticking, very gusty winds.. the snow is very wet and not only light, some heavier stuff should do the trick.

North Cumbria has done well so far today, hoping we see a decent cover come morning. I note Kirkstone Pass is closed first time this winter, always a good sign!..

Pleasantly surprised today, normally this part of Cumbria is quite sheltered in these conditions.
