I'm not entirely sure I'm looking forward to any meaningful snow. Older 5-Series' with auto boxes don't cope all that well IIRC.

Been there, done that....

Winter tyres for you me thinks!

Better runs this evening, much like this mornings were only one run...so are this evenings. Right down the middle sounds about fair today. Could go either way, let's hope it goes the way of cold and snow. Suspect some may catch a few showers and maybe a little coating Weds into Thurs.

For those of us feeling snow starved, here's a live feed of the snow in Long Isaldn, New York, one of the favoured hot spots.

It sounds incredible, snow falling at rates of 10cms per hour at the height of the storm, drifts up to 10 feet.

Why is that guy clearing snow? By himself with a shovel?

Exactly he must know they are forecast 2 foot of the stuff. He is going to need a bigger shovel lol.

I pity the fool :p as soon as he puts his feet up his work will be done would it be logical to commence snow clearing once it is over? it is not going to get pretty...his famous all of us, watching him from thousands of miles away. He has lost hope it seems.

Need some better tyres full stop, tbh. I bought it off my father-in-law who never shod his cars with good rubber (apart from his old 911, which was treated to period-correct Michelins). The 5 currently has 4 x LingLong Pontefract Sport Non-Contacts, or something equally gripless.

Hehe, this looks like an accurate midlands snow chart if I ever saw one.

Man that is classic. That chart right there just sums up our luck in the Midlanss when it comes to snow events. Especially Leicester and Warwickshire! And now Oxford by the looks of it.

I'm used to it now so I just laugh at it. I've looked at the GFS PPN charts for the next 3 or 4 days. There is rain/snow  to the west, east, south, north.. basically everywhere surrounding the midlands. It's like there is a giant midlands wide PPN shield pushing everything around us :p

Either that or GFS resolution is too low to resolve the showers that hit us. I'm clutching at straws here.. :p

I feel your pain.

I have the misfortune to have an office near Wolverhampton, and it always seems that even Mother Nature hates the area. There will be rain / storms / snow in Salop, Staffs, Worcs, B'ham, etc but Wolves will have perpetual anti-cyclonic gloom. Bah!

I know that a 5 series drives like sh*t off a shovel (pardon my French), and you definitely don't want to be using low contact tyres on anything other than a dry Nurburgring.....

(And especially not Chinese ones!)

:)

Blimey, it's quiet on here this morning....

Is everyone watching New York webcams or something instead?!

The xcweather forecast for my area this morning shows snow for Weds, but who knows if this'll come true...
