Nice pics wont be long before more comes your way.

Hopefully! â„ï¸â„ï¸ Can see the showers out west/nw.... Got huge clumps of snow falling off roof, wonder if we will have the roof avalanche we had week back, made huge roar and then massive pile of snow! Hit one of our neighbours haha....

Wow, 10cm of snow to virtually all gone in parts. We really needed it to freeze but sadly not.

The 12z has all of a sudden put a large area of precip moving through roughly 3am-7am tomorrow for our area. Compare with the 6z was basically none existant. Has it as a mix of sleet/snow though. One to watch perhaps

It's interesting that the met office has included the west midlands in their warnings for Tuesday, i can't see how that can be realistic. Also GFS says no snow almost anywhere on Tuesday, especially mainland England.

Fiz,

No you didn't dream it.

The BBC have put out an advanced wether warning about it.

However it was based upon a small Icelandic low diving SSe to be over Ireland and Sw England. down into Biscay.

The latest has it going more directly south. Don't think with all the other hemisphere changes going on that they can pick the track accurately enough yet!!

MIA

Ah ok, just couldn't see anything about Monday on the MetO site, but the BBC have, you say?

That`ll favour further west then with a N/NW airflow looking at the charts ideal.

Little wintry showers passing through today dropping a variety of precipitation.

As far as general cold spells go, this is quite a poor one. However, it is impressive for one that contains north westerly winds. I do think we're squeezing the very best we can out of the pattern this week. So I'm happy as long as something better comes along later in the winter.

My garden in Ashby de la Zouch at 10am this morning.  Also some of the neighbours gardens, and the field behind, I don't live in a mansion!

That's mentioned in the afternoon MetO update for the West Midlands: "a line of showers travelling south across the region through the early hours". The East Midlands update just talks about isolated wintry showers and doesn't refer to any band.

The warning area just clips the extreme east of Warwickshire. Nowhere else in the W Mids is under the yellow area.

Took me nearly 2 and half hours to drive into work, dropping my son off on the way. 15 miles, including the school drop in a village on my way. Left at 7.40, arrived work 10.10. There was an inch of snow though once upto the outskirts of town at 100m more like two inches. I just got back from Norway at midnight. Pathetic what happens to the roads and drivers.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
