to be honest I don't think they really know what is going to happen even a few hours before.  the 'bitter' cold they were forecasting for the weekend and early next week don't seem to be materialising to be as low as originally predicted.  I don't regard a low of -1 as being that cold to be honest considering we are still in winter.  a daytime high of 4c is hardly worth warning of either.

The met is actually becoming laughable in the last few hours its had me down for bone dry saturday. Then sleet and rain, now the latest says snow showers tonite and tomoz. So its take your pick. And has snow all through tues. Makes you think whats the point if they cant even forecast acurately for the next day.

The problem is that any snow is marginal for this area as we have already seen with some peeps getting nothing.

We need a proper countrywide snow event.

Yh true but they are not even getting ppn track or intensity correct at such a short time. And people the real cold kicks in sat nite expect more dramatic changes in forecasts as the models are all over the place.

Absolutely balmy out there, 5C and sunny. This is not a cold spell at all, we haven't even had an air frost since Tuesday last week. Showers passing west of here but they look to be of rain.

6C here and sunny but to be fair these sorts of temperatures were predicted for today.

There was always going to be a milder spell from last night until Saturday - it was never modelled or forecast to be any different? This was 100% expected. The cold will return tommorrow evening, like it's been forecast too all week. There was NEVER snow of frost forecast here today, or for the next day or so? Why are people expecting something never modelled?

Well, I've just been for a run across the fields behind my house, and it's beautiful out.  Warm, and sunny, and a total mud bath where the snow has melted, managed to run in some snow at the National Cycle Centre where there was still places of over an inch thick.  Gorgeous views!

Radar looks good for later. May get a better chance for snow here than last night

It will be sleet by the looks of it, unfortunately. It isn't

cold enough.

My point is the temps this weekend and next week.

BBC showing temps of four and five degrees. Not much of a cold spell

if you ask me!

Anything is possible over the next Week. Especially when the cold air is entrenched later tomorrow. It will be down to radar watching and now casting. The best snowfall in Tamworth is often not predicted.
