Whilst no snow....just felt a small earthquake here with some rumbling! Thought it was thunder at first... :(

Yep I felt that too here in Thurmaston. Was like a mini earthquake.

I told you there would be some annoyed people when showers were missed by a matter of 10-15 miles

At least you are in with a shout! Showers dying out 30 miles West of here for the past 3 hours.

I shouldn't really expect anything tbh......when we get good disruptive snow here in South Warwickshire the rest of the country is usually buried.... :D

Well, I've got a double snowflake for 11pm on the MetO forecast, and yet there's not a thing falling from the sky.

Super Computer? Pah!

That must be the same one I had at 11pm, but was replaced by sleet symbol and nothing fell out the sky.

They just move it around during the night when they get bored.  :D

It's been recorded as Oakham, being the epicentre.

I know there is no point looking at EURO4 any more as these showers are going to appear anywhere really. But the 18z has pretty much reversed the 12z northward shift. It's nudged it back further south again. Just shows you should take every output with a pinch of salt even at this timeframe.

Anyway back to radar watching :)

edit:

Okay so the NMM has one nice looking streamer for early hours Friday. Likely to be very marginal though, probably rain/sleet. If it was snow though it would deliver very nicely. Before the streamer arrives though there is really quite a lot of nice PPN coming right through the midlands. I'm trying to not get caught up looking at this because I know it's pointless - but I really hope it looks like this on the radar when I wake up tomorrow morning !

The question is whether it'll be snow! I had three showers this evening: one sleet/snow, one rain/snow and one just rain. I'd almost rather it stayed dry all tomorrow than go through that again. I'd take a couple of full-snow showers that didn't settle; I just don't want rain!

Thats the spirit its now casting at its best. Tomorrow looks very interesting now quite a few heavy snow symbols from the met looks like a few streamers are going straight through the midlands tomoz. Nite everyone and good luck tomoz.

I did mention earlier that the 18z euro4 in (the snow ppn would be further South), tomorrow morning there will a more organized band of snow pushing South in a Nw'ly direction :D

That's weird because if you type in Glossop on Metcheck, it gives you about 3mm of precip over the whole day. And Metcheck's forecast is based on the latest model runs.

Then again, I thought Netweather's was as well? How can they be so different. Confused.com

The MetO site's hourly symbols count for precisely nothing, I'm well aware of that -- but just for fun, here are how Thursday's break down for Bewdley:

Cloudy: 13

Rain: 1

Sleet: 7

Snow: 3 (all of the "light shower" variety)

That is, I would venture to suggest, not the most exciting forecast I have ever seen.:laugh:
