Struggling a bit more up river Paul. Just about got a dusting on the grass and cars but mostly melting on impact.

Rain in Manchester hmm I'm not liking the reports coming in from up north!

I was hearing reports of dense thick snow in Merseyside, towards the E, which includes SE/EA it is conducive for snow 100%.

Yes, but lows like the one we have tonight weaken rapidly over land

The showers didn't, and arguably a low would have more "oomf" to it

My earlier estimate of Liverpool to NW Wales would now be refined further west on looking at 90 minutes of radar scans.

Would put the Low closer to Dublin Bay now, so next few hours will be critical to see if it can get any eastwards momentum!

Utter nonsense. If anything current METO invent data suggests it will pep up just West of London.

Gritters have been deployed in Croydon to treat A & B Routes

And another 3 inches of grit on the Croydon pavements again, like the other week! Plays havoc with your

shoes! Not another Day After Tomorrow Croydon Cobra meeting Yamkin! Joking :)

I can confirm a reasonable dusting on top of Gravel Hill, when I came over there earlier this evening, though.

Tom.

Its not utter nonsense at all!

Wow, they lose their intensity as they have no moisture to play with over land, in simple terms.

And the invent radar is just that,it invents stuff, its not accurate, its a projection.

As a new southerner, id like to know how good was the snow down here a few winters ago? I lived in wakefield, which is a quite low lying area of Yorkshire so it mostly had its disappointments, its seems so annoying because if this was the US the few hundred miles difference would mean so little.

Yep I thought that and posted same Paul (the low further west). Lets hope it throws a curve to get back on track. Too far away from the low and the showers may lose intensity???
