BBC start to becoming a little more confident of the North Easterly/Easterly waking up next week, particular emphasis on the South East even as the Atlantic breaks through into the north.

Ladies and Gents this is brewing up to be by some margin our best looking shot for 2 years.

When it comes to the outlook for the next 12 hrs im not a massive fan of using the models and prefer the Sat/Radar. However it is worth pointing out that the latest GFS 18Z run doesn't show much in the way of snow with the main band of precip hitting Norfolk, Suffolk. Also it is suggesting this could be marginal in these regions.

So please take this on board and try not to expect too much.

I was just about to post practically the same thing but didnt want to get shouted down..... most models show the showers either dissipating or heading out east; lets hope they keep their track and intensity although wind direction not ideal

I think the coming day or so will be hit or miss all over the region. If the easterly breaks in we will see what we are all looking for.

Excited the Beeb is talking about it now, they take their information from the MetO so they must be thinking it is likely.

We could even end up with that wonderful situation where the north is mild and Atlantic while we get all the fun down south!

Interesting area of showers seem to be developing between Shefield and Hull. These are heading S but will veer SE if they make it this far.

The key development as we move through the weekend is the introduction of the East into the wind direction. I will tuning in for the forecast at 2228. We must rid ourself of the soggy Pest!

Moderate north easterly winds

Sunshine and heavy snow showers, these likely to spread inland at times

Temperatures - 1-4C

Thursday

post-17424-0-94361200-1422742337_thumb.p

Moderate east to north easterly wind

Scattered snow showers again likely mixed with sunny spells.

Temperatures - 1-4C

At this point, no point discussion the details as disturbances could crop up in the north sea or even from the near continent. Snow does look likely for most of this coming week in places.

Hi guys there is no Easterly Progged.

Its a NE flow around 45 Degrees.

Only Good for East kent & Suffolk.- places like Ipswich etc. I wouldn't get to excited...

Unsurprisingly I like the sound of that!

But hopefully there can be a bit of a shift in the wind direction so that more people see something of interest.

Regarding TEITS post : Well I live in Herne bay and have seen sweet zero snow wise. So I'm glad! It's an east Kent event just for once. It's dead as a dodo in the model thread all the big hitters are absent. Oh ohhh
