There can be some really rewarding times watching ppn grow on radar, but yes, more often than not it is either a case of it fizzling out, or it being too borderline for snow, but all fun.

It's about time we had some luck I favour W London, E London in doubt, been a fun experience.

EW: Latest model data suggesting widespread sleet and snow showers for a time on Saturday morning. Some accumulations are possible.

It's heading just East of the IOW, will probably enter the channel between Portsmouth and Brighton - the finger of PPN on the Eastern side of it may effect W/SW London and the extreme West of the SE, but most of us will miss it I think.

The PPN of interest is the stuff over Northern England, should take a more SE track as it pushes into the Midlands

Dont break my little snowy heart

3 hour radar forecast has it hitting entire London with most chunky stuff towards the SW of London. I disagree I reckon many potentially could get a dusting or more. :)

It's taking an increasingly easterly track now! Even the newly issues Met Office ice warnings mention the possibility of a couple of cm even for southern England.

Looking very interesting... The ppn is taking it's time getting to Oxford though.

I've been trying to stress this is the main thing to watch overnight in the Midlands thread. Quite favourable here as it arrives, good freeze going on from last nights snow. Lots still left in the surrounding countryside, full covering in the park and fields heading out of town. This helps in situations like these.

The ppn is holding it's own, with those two streamers also doing very well right now. There must be some very decent falls under the paths of those!

This ties in with the memo from the MetO for Croydon to get light snow

It came through here as snow start to finish and i'm only half a mile from the river Avon so i'm not high up. Reckon you could get a result down there whoever catches it.

Nice one, thanks for the update!

Good chart. Also, the ppn following is interesting too. The energy levels are peaking. This is simply amazing  :D  :yahoo:

Good to see the Gritter go past, quite speedily too - may have received urgent updates directly from MO we'll see.

Nice... Still potent as it hits Oxford and a more SE'ly track to the ppn, just needs to make it over those pesky Chilterns now.

"Hammering" it down with snow in Oxfordshire.

Have you noticed how the ppn has peaked as it pushes further S/SE? The ppn behind this band is also full of energy. We all expected so much from yesterday's saga and thought that's it, but this time around we did not expect as much

Councils have amazing radar monitoring equipment. There is a full gritting team here in Croydon and they are now going out again to treat the network as they can see what is approaching. Many are going to wake up surprised and excited.
