Well things have progressed more or less than expected. Slightly concerned for those in the SW of our region with higher temps and dew points in the mix, but anyone on the Northern and Eastern edge of the low should do well.

Looking good for Northern parts of Essex and into Suffolk from the first cluster of snow now arriving :)

gradually south eastwards

I read it as, it's going to turn to rain, incidentally, both my temp and dp are on their way up, and I'm east of this system.

You can really see how Western areas are dealing with the milder sector whilst us further East see all snow

I can tell you now, only the Blue / rain was accurate on that radar shot. Im firmly sat under Green.. Sleet ? And its been Very heavy constant snow all night since 7 am :) It fell as snow further west and NW of here too (Oldham)

Whether this is a fail or not for us, it just shows how even the Met office can be very poor at forecasting, Nothing mentioned on national TV- however Manchester airport currently closed due to 12cm of snow......

PS system now pivoting so the PPN sill start swinging more south-  we still could be in the firing line!!

SOME snowflakes mixed in with the rain, so sleet.. perhaps it'll turn to snow during heavier bursts but my hopes of anything settling have pretty much disappeared now - Strange setup tonight

Okay that's it. As much as I want to stay up and see how this all pans out for the rest of us... I really need to sleep. Good luck all. We've still got next week :)

Snowed for 20 minutes, turned to sleet and has stopped.  Radar implies a lot should be falling here right now!
