This country is ridiculous. Airports are closing because of a few cm, BBC news reports are racing across the country to stand in the snow and say "Look, snow" on live TV.

America had 30" of snow, sure they shut down during the storm but immediately after they were opening and running as usual again. Pull yourself together Britain!

It is easier to justify the outlay for snow clearing machinery etc when you get a regular dose of it.

Difference is US spends huge amounts on dealing with snow. In Britain we don't. The country would moan if huge budget set aside for snow every few years.

Afternoon All,

I am in Nottinghamshire at the moment, I've seen about 30 minutes of moderate snow which has left a covering, the sun is now trying to melt this.  I will be heading back down to Southend in about an hour so it will be interesting to see how far I get before the white stuff runs out.

That's encouraging - might turn to snow once it gets heavier

really hope it doesn't get heavy as we are about to send out 37 Fiat 500's on an 'Italian Job' team build challenge, 3 people per car. Working in Silverstone not N London

Hiya,

Brief snow shower in Sheringham left the ground white.

Looks like showers that turned to rain as they crossed the M25 to nw are turning back to snow according to radar :)

Will cheer the children up if it turns white for school run, but feel it's more likely for the run in tomorrow :D

Started as rain, then sleet but now proper snow. I am just on the outskirts of Peterborough (Eye)

That's quite a shower train over Cambridge, stretches back to Birmingham, so if it turns to snow soon you may get a decent amount building up.
