Wouldn't be surprised to see more of the white stuff over higher ground after the storm passes through in the next 24/36 hours. Dew Points below zero and 850s below -4/5. Could add a sprinkling to the tops before the fun and games start at the weekend.

Well I've no idea of the what the gusts are measuring down here but have just been outside to remove our 14" trampoline off the top of the car.

We considered moving it before but it has full netting and takes 3 men to lift and the bolts are rusted together, so we decided to risk it!!! It travelled over 20m but lifted over the top of our 6" fence without damaging it and ended up in the drive. Could have been a lot worse.

Hope you're all fairing ok out there. Winds seem to easing at the mo.

Ahhemm.

More posts like that & I know where my snow shovel will be going.

Whether or not you agree with Mr M's analysis, his posts earn him respect and admiration. I wonder if the same can be said of you Windseeker?!!!!

Not as windy here as I expected, averaged 30mph with a gust of 44 around 3:30am. Temp overnight was 8c at 8pm to 10.5c at 4am.

10mm of rain between midnight and 4am and about 4mm yesterday evening.

Wind has eased now and its dry, 9.3c

Amazing amount of rainfall last night, picking up almost 23,mm. And yet, London shows as having 8mm in the last 24hours, with Portland receiving 12.8mm.

Things are definitely very soggy out there this morning, one of the local football pitches is a lake this morning.

Amount of damage seems minimal around our area, walking out this morning, small branches down, but not a lot else.

Oh come on I think it was tongue in cheek and it would appear Steve took it well, let's not get into this in our friendly regional!

Missed the wind associated with the squal line, was it bad?

Was noisy at midnight when I went to sleep, I'm expecting Debris to be everywhere when I venture out.

My fence survived which makes a change

I see mass chaos ensuing in here soon after Ian's latest update in the MOD thread.

Guess where the snow line is according to the Meto for early next week?

Ok if it was meant tongue in cheek, then I apologise to Windseeker.

Yeah, quite crazy by the sounds of outside when it passed... Some very heavy rain and some strong gusts blowing it onto my window!

Read it earlier.

Bit of a gutter, to be honest.

Could change back to yday's brill runs, but if Meto are saying otherwise then so be it.

I'm not a fan of marginal rain/snow situs.

Hey-ho.

Hey-ho.

Looks like a few days of frosts, anything falling from the sky will be cold rain. Taking the GFS run this morning at face value I cant see what the fuss is about next week!

23.2mm here and our little streams well up into 'flooding is possible'.  OH has gone out to see what's what, I shall stay put until I know!
