Looking at the radar it seems that the Stroud Snow Shield is still firmly in place!!! heavy ppn to SW & NE of us with nothing where we are! Hope it shifts later on.

Just a very brief rain shower so far.

Temp 4.1

DP 1

Its very early yet lol :) Plenty of showers packing in out to the west.

I have now settled down for a "snow watch night" my favourite lol. Heres hoping we all do well boys and girls!!!!

SNOWING! Coming down thick and fast here. Currently melting on impact though, hope the ground cools quickly. According to METO forecast it should currently be rain here, not due to start turning to snow until after 9pm, hopefully this means it's cooler than anticipated and more of us should see snow, fingers crossed.

February 2009. It was heavenly, easily a foot of snow here from that little beauty!

Problem I see is this is a shower and once it passes the little that is settling is just going to melt again unless temperatures drop another 1c at least. :nonono:

I had a little flurry of wet snow here about a hour ago and I am 4m ASL, so I wouldn't lose faith or move just yet. :-) Edited by smiles

So. Home from work. Its 0.8c. Dew point at -1. I'm on a hill what could possibly go wrong. ;)

Whens the main lot suppose to hit? :)

I think between 01:00 and 05:00 looks like a good time. More organised bands of what I suspect will be mainly snow likely over the West Country then.

Very heavy snow at 17.30 which lasted about half an hour, albeit wet snow. Didn't stick at all though as the ground is too wet and the temp was still 2C. Nice to see though.

A blizzard bringing a sudden drift of snow traps you in your house without beer, not melting until tomorrow afternoon when 80mph gusts of wind bring a tree down trapping you indoors again still without no beer?

I think I shall go to the safest place I know to take refuge... the Mendip Inn or the Oakhill inn tonight   :drinks:

Some beefy looking showers developing out in the Bristol channel.

Seem to be heading straight for N Devon and Somerset.

Brace yourselves!

Is Bristol a snow magnet?

I thought I lived in a milder part of the UK, but I'm not so sure now.
