We must remember to respect the Mountains - Snow? we all have a passion for it on here -  Beautiful but unforgiving.

RIP

Hi,

Just as I wait for possible snow I am curious if any knows how much snow did the Liverpool/Merseyside area get in the February 1991 spell - I know being an Easterly a lot would have been sheltered by the pennines but some one on hear said that he got 15cm or so - does anyone remember how much snow in my locale as I can't seem to remember it very well.  Also how did my patch fare in 1987 so I think it might have been not that much snow but it might have lasted a long time due to how cold that spell was?

Luke

Obviously can't speak for Liverpool or lower areas of Lancashire and Greater Manchester but early February 91 was quite severe up here for snow.

We had to wait until January 2010 for a heavier fall and then March 2013 to see a better blizzard.

Light snow still falling and more showers seem to be heading down from the NNE.

Wasn't expecting this.

I wouldn't mind one Backtrack, if it's still available that is.

I've PM'ed you the login :)

A period of light to moderate snow for one hour here. A lovely surprise! Usually get nothing at all from a northerly.

Stuck on the grass and where it was iced over, but that's it. Nothing on the paths etc. Did it stick properly further north in St Helens?

Currently 0.5C and feeling very cold.

Drove to Frodsham just now, a little more snow there on the ground than here, but less snow falling.
