I'd say as long as your town/city isn't classed as coastal your surely inland, truth is in the uk your never to far away from the sea, what I hate is the battlegrounds we have with warm air pushing against the cold especially in the northwest! The cold air always seems to recede and anywhere west of Bolton and South of Preston gets sleet at best in a lot of them situations, I'd like to have the cold air dig into us before I look for snow, fingers crossed that happens much sooner with our current scenario :) especially as the 850's should be -6 pretty much everywhere in the uk by teatime tomorrow. I think we're going to have a good chance this coming week :)

Wow the wind has really gone up a few notches in the last 20mins, gusts in excess of 70mph according to my anemometer! Didn't stay out long though!

I was told in the model thread not to get to excited when I posted the widespread snow for my area as it won't happen lol

They could have said might not happen it would have been a lot fairer than wont, however if someone called me deluded they would be flamed!

We have bigger chances than them so ner ner na ner ner :p

They keep harping on about a Beast from the East, they do it every Winter but it never comes to fruition. I'm going to enjoy our North Westerly flow and (hopefully) Snow over the next few days IMBY! lol

I'd be careful looking ahead to Tuesday tbh. The forecast models have a nasty habit of predicting the precipitation in this kind of set up too far north, i'd expect S/SW corrections to start happening fairly soon.  The block to the NE is often understimated.

Any yes SL we have the weekend first though :)

So I take it I was reading the charts right

Torrential rain/ sleet winds are continuous gusts scary

Yes you were right. The MOD Thread is a kind of extension to the South East thread, if your face doesn't fit you're wrong no matter how much information & charts you post.

Its only that when there is a chance of snow, the rest of the time its pretty good.

Just wish the mods would stamp down on it more as it really does affect the atmosphere, also 9 out 10 posts are complete off topic rubbish that has little to do with the models :(

I agree it's all about the south, looks like the 12z is better for them

I actually think the best placed for Tuesdays snow are places in the West and South of the region, Liverpool, Runcorn, Altringham.
