A nice dusting of snow near Northwich, it was snowing moderately until a couple of minutes ago. Hooray. Might be a bit more to come? After last winter where I didn't see a single snowflake, it's turned out to be a bumper winter so far...relatively.

No dusting here unfortunately, just a few flakes in the wind

The slightest dusting on some pavements, must of been a very light shower here... Still beggars can't be choosers.

Snowed all the way from Bacup to Bury and settling at the Bacup end on the frozen ground.  Here in Bury icy but nothing really on the ground at present.  More showers building off the Irish sea on the radar off Southport which are heading this way hopefully.

Has anyone from this region double-crossed Rachel, because she's set to go through us like a woman scorned tomorrow.

Morning all. Same old same old here, a heavy hail shower around 7am gave dusting of hail, then it started raining about 7.30.  Hills directly east of Preston have a half decent covering though.

More snow closer to the coast further N, theres a fair bit around Lancaster and then it disappears again when you get further inland towards Carnforth.

Surprised there isn't more here after the hefty shower last night when I left.

Well i dont know if it snowed in the night or not, twas asleep, but woke up at gone 8am and it sounded like it was chucking it down, went to look and it confused me as it was white over, roads, pavements, cars and rooftops, not the grass though, so must have been hail i heard on the windows. I was right peeved i couldnt find my camera cause ive never in my life ever seen the sky that colour before! It was completely black with a massive thick line of almost flurescent orange in the middle of it! And i couldnt find camera or my blumming phone!

After Rachael departs our shores we are back into the cold

And wintry showers regime, the charts look epic this morning

Plenty of chances of snow, even prolonged spells and getting

colder by the day.

winter 2015 is just starting, sit back and enjoy it been a long

time coming

after that ramp, I wish you all a very good morning

...everything but the kitchen sink that's what that is lol

Sadly the last chance of a wintry shower as just passed to my north heading over the Pennine hills now, should give a goodbye sprinkling to those out in the sticks..

...but as other's mentioned this could just be the starter to the main course.

I don't think will be any more showers coming here from now on unless you live or work north of the Ribble for couple more hours over there. Looking north seems to me the showers just keep on coming.

No sign of it thawing here still in roof

Same here. Only very little. I don't know whether hail or snow will melt faster.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
