Sounds like cold zonality moving forward! Plenty of chances for snow in our region!

What a letdown last night was. To not stick and then turn to rain after such a bitter day is absolutely pathetic.

In fact the entire few days have been a big disappointment given what was showing in the days leading up.

Just managed to get up the drive when I got home which was an exciting piece of 4x4 driving, if it freezes I will never get down again so may not have been a good idea!  Walked across my field to see my neighbour and the snow was going over my boots easily so we must have between 8 to 10 inches and it still appears to be coming down lightly. If I could work out how to post pictures from my phone I would.

Couldn't believe it myself when I got closer to home how much snow there is in Bacup.

As you said at least 10 inches at hour house so almost certainly over a foot deep at the top of the hill.

Took a couple of pictures and wil try and post them later.

Rain, rain, rain !! ☔☔

It's only been drizzling on and off here.

One crumb of comfort is that if it had all been snow it probably wouldn't have amounted to much anyway.

Not the best photos I've ever taken but this was the snow at home tonight.

Still snowing lightly now almost 24 hours after starting.

Amazing. Altitude everything in this set up.

Can you recommend and simple walks in the Rossendale area.

Shows what a bit of elevation can do...always the same.

No lying snow here for 2 years. Sad state of affairs really. Even in the mildie winters of yesteryear I've had at least a thin covering at some point.

Those saying it's better than last year....well it isn't really for most of the lowlands. Yes there has been snow falling but what use is that when it's falling at such a slow rate and barely accumulating?? At least last year I had some thunder, storm force winds etc. As a pair, so far these past 2 winters must be up there with the worst of all time.

Mostly sleet here today, all things considered did not do too bad out of the cold spell

Some very heavy spells of snow during the day shame it was not persistent, could have had some good depths.

Sleet at the moment and a general thaw underway.

6/10 ( could have been better)

Been nearly 2 years since I had a decent snowfall and that was in spring, 23rd March 2013! Plenty of time left for some winter weather! :)

Wish this would happen again!!!
