Just to add insult to injury, even NE England have a snow warning

This all from W-NW airflow which should be ideal for our

Region, all the snow showers seem to disappear over the

Irish sea then pep up again once thy have crossed the region,

Seems like we are a huge black hole

A couple of points. Parts of the NW are under warning. What it could be is a trough that tracks across the far north of England but the south misses out.

Also the wind direction is not a WNW flow but WSW flow

Thanks SparkleS and cheshire snow x. Weve had some heavy showers this morning - got drenched. Drying up now but still windy. Gutted we have no warnings for snow although we had no warning for boxing day and we got some. Fingers crossed

Grrrr!!!

lol North West appears to be no-mans land again, as fun and games goes on to our North, South and East...

...anyway it'll all be slushed away by Wed/Thurs storm.

As WH said parts of our region are under the snow warning noteably north Lancs and Cumbria.  For here at least there is too much of a W'rly element for the precipitation to fall as snow.

For the third winter on the trot I am still waiting for a snowflake, which even for this snowless part of the region is an achievement. 3 winters with no snow - can't remember the last time that happened in my lifetime. There's time left this winter yet though.

Looking forward to a Sleety Salwick then tomorrow.

Real threat to the IOM on Wednesday - and Lancashire for that matter.

Better cabin up.

It was on Saturday that some people here were posting snow charts for Tuesday and I said it won't happen for us due to the southwesterly element of the wind - Wales eating the showers. And that's what looks like happening.

Being in the extreme S of the region I may be lucky enough to see a rogue shower....though what am I thinking, it never snows here!

I think you have  a chance. Manchester will be in the rain/snow shadow as usually happens in the southwesterly flow.

At least there are opportunities further down the line. By then I will be 4,000 miles away! lol

It gets very close on the latest Euro4. 50 miles N would do it!

Won't be affected by Welsh mountain shadow ,but it still won't snow :(.....

Cumbria is in a good position for the wintry showers.

I agree we SHOULD be, but i don't trust the irish sea with making ppn at all.

I don't think precip type will be the issue here (for once) being downwind of high ground and lower DPs. It'll just be whether any precipitation gets here!
