I have an interest in Sheffield as my Sister lives there and she hates the snow, while I live in Manchester and love it. I guess latest forecast is sods law.

Latest hourly forecast from MetO from 8PM, D=dry SL=sleet LS= light snow, HS= Heavy Snow

Sheffield

LS,LS,HS,HS,HS,LS,LS,LS,HS,HS,HS,LS,LS,LS,HS,HS,LS, LS,LS,LS,LS,LS,LS,LS

For Manchester same period

D,LS,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,D,LR,LR,LR,LR,LR,D,LS

Good! The lower the temperature the better!

Dewpoints around the region are well into sub-zero figures. Not a problem with this, it'll be snow all the way. It's just the precipitation that's bothering me!

u and me both. It seems to have stalled south of IOM

Again i miss out on another decent low level snow event, im so p****** off after seeing the forecasts yesterday giving me a full 12 hours of sleet and snow to heavy cloud, just backs up my point that i live in one of the worst places for snow in the uk, havent seen over 10cm since 2005 F.F.S MAN

Forgive my ignorance. But how in gods name can this miss your location? As has been said, ignore the bloody app, it's useless! And look out the window and at the radar. There's a blob the size of a sea sat out in the Irish sea with all of our names on. Just because you're not in the warning area doesn't mean anything either. The met office issued a red warning in 2010 for here, AFTER the snow had started. They themselves have said they basically can't work this one out. So chill out, look at the radar, and stop moaning :p

Radar has ppn pushing up from the SW over the Irish Sea?

Diane on the BBC doesn't think this will get as far north as Cumbria but for the rest of the region....Meto has me down for snow throughout the evening and night now.

Did she look depressed at the prospect of people getting snow?
