met office now says rain sleet and snow moving up from the sw over our region. sure that has changed .

It has the warning has just changed -

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&regionName=nw&fcTime=1421712000&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50

Outbreaks of sleet or snow are expected to extend northeastwards from parts of Wales across parts of the Midlands and northern England on Tuesday evening and night, persisting into Wednesday morning in places. Accumulations of 2-5 cm are likely in places, mainly above around 150 m, perhaps with 10 cm very locally on high ground, particularly the Peak District and high ground of north Wales. In the south of the warning area, the snow is likely to turn to rain on Tuesday evening and overnight. The snow should ease gradually through Wednesday morning.

This is an update to the warning to reduce the amount of snow but to highlight the individual areas thought more at risk for larger accumulations. It remains possible that this warning could be upgraded to Amber for a smaller area should confidence increase sufficiently.

The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport.

Snowing in Liverpool according to radar, is it really though?

No-I'm expecting sleety rain anyway-unless ppn is really heavy and we get evaporative cooling

Rain! At least they say south for rain.

Gone from 3-8cm to 2-5cm. You have to laugh. In the USA they talk about inches per hour falling rate. We're excited if you look out of the window and everything's white - forget depth!

Not seeing ppn despite the echoes, which indicates evaporative cooling, hopefully sounds good for later...

The bbc forecast has downgraded our chances of snow even further. Going for 2 light snow showers at 9pm and midnight! Where will this go hmmmm

BBC weather app really isn't the best place to go right now - look at the radar, then out the window :)

Hi all, long time forum lurker but just signed up for occasions like today, fingers crossed this is going to be a good one, haven't had any lying snow around mine for ages, got caught in last Sunday's 15 min blizzard when I popped out to Sainos and that's it!

Do things look good for Salford (Prestwich end) in this snowmagedon event? :D

You up near age Croft road/rainsough end fella? Cos you're at least a bit higher up that end.. that being said we should get something here
