can see the PPN moving in from the north now. Hopefully falls as snow to top up what we already have!

I like your enthusiasm, the forecast on news 24 15 mins showed

The front fragmenting rapidly as it hits the mainland, and as far as

PPN charts are concerned they are all useless, yes this week will

Be in the cool category with ice and frost, but for those looking

for a good snow event, I think most will be dissapointed, such a

shame that what looked quite promising has yet again be

downgraded to nothing, standard for this country i, m afraid

C.S

Oh I know, I was just making a point that some of the ppn charts look good for our area.

Another example: http://modeles.meteo.../gfs-2-84.png?6 shows snow for us!

I also saw the BBC forecast but I ignore any ppn on them as they are always wrong, many of the forecasts skip Monday into Tuesday so lots of uncertainty.

Regardless, it will be a now-cast situation as stated before but I don't think all is lost. I am always, if anything, enthusiastic!

We have a whole two days of change for Tuesday. Last week the models had mild until the end of time. So we should wait and see. We should also note they forcast events poorly and they never work out, so maybe it will work out with a forcast a non event turning into something. Let's hope, still not used my spade. :)

Well if I don't see any snow in the next few weeks I'm off up to the Scottish Highlands in the first week of Feb so I'm hoping all the snow will still be there!

Just had a walk and the snow is crusty underfoot here.

Some roads here are quite treacherous too.

looks like the first band of showers has died out from looking at the radar because nothing arrived here! The 2nd band behind it seems to have a bit more about it so lets see if that makes it!

The wind has picked up here and is forecast to stay mod/fresh throughout the night so I have some doubt as to whether those predicted minimums come off given the wind, if you are sheltered from a northerly then you should do ok.

I'm still under a blanket of freezing fog but a very slight thaw going on..

Seems northen parts of Bolton, Belmont, Bradshaw and turton have done very well.

What the hell was this? 2.04 and 2.06 Looks like a roll cloud but the way it tracks across seems to go against the flow. I wonder what caused it?

It must be low level cloud. The upper wind vectors were blowing in the opposite direction to the actual winds last night.

The band of showers getting closer here and the question is will it be a top up or a watery mess?

The only thing thawed here is the frost. Snow here is too hard to thaw.

Just starting to snow here, very small flakes but still another day where I can say I've seen falling snow.
