Thats me and Crewe cold out of the action then LOL

FWIW the Euro4 has the same feature but slightly further S which has you and me both in on the action. Bet NMM is on the money though.

Temps falling quite nicely now, just had an intense hail storm in Irlam, it's now 1C so hopefully it can drop some more.

Just looked at the radar and I see the Irish Sea is prepping them up a lot, each one has gone over this area all day, in a sort of Manchester Streamer as opposed to the more frequent Cheshire Gap Streamer.

Hopefully see some snow later on.

Another person from Irlam?

NMM has been very poor at handling these showers. Has had much of the region dry today.

I hope so, although Met Office warning issued earlier says showers becoming less frequent tonight!?

There is another trough dropping over the region tomorrow

Morning, however the presenter did say it would fragmate

As it pushes south.

The Manchester streamer happened in both the 2009 and 2010 cold spells. Left me frustrated to hell.

2009 horrendous, 20th Dec, Stockport 8 inches, here not a sausage, 5th Jan '10 better around 2-3 inches here, but not a further 8 like Stockport

Aye, I can imagine Crewe. It's been like that all day here, just showers feeding through Manchester all day, although winds later on tonight are set to shift from this currently Westerley feed, so god knows how long it will last, maybe that's why the Euro4 was picking up on a more Cheshire Gap Streamer later on?

Finally got a nice white covering here, snowing quite readily now albeit mainly light - nice surprise after watching the footie on sky... mostly a frustrating day on the wrong side of marginal as been finished on a good note.  Hope further in the week all of the NW area get's in on the wintry act.

Milder air tied in with these showers. Just isn't right. 0.9C as this one arrived, 1.4C now.. Falling as rain and hail. Dewpoint is -2C...

Radar shows heavy echoes above, it's only just noticeable in the lamppost. Absolute joke.

Gawd don't remind me....

I actually came down the moss the other night on the way home from work due to that accident on the new road, where the woman sadly lost her life.

Twelve Yards Road, wouldn't have used it but as it's a company car, why not? Pot Holes galore!

Where in South Manchester are you ?

I remember in the late 80's we had about 6 inches of overnight snow here in bolton, was working in Stockport at the time, by the time we drove past eccles it was bone dry.. Weird how are region is..

Yeah I'm not far from Eccles in a place called Urmston, just SW of Stretford.

We can be dry when there is snow all around and often get rain or sleet while even the City center just 8 miles away get snow, quite bizarre and even more annoying.

Just had our first hail shower which is as wintry as it has been, puddles and rain showers with DP +0'5 and temp +1.5

I am hoping the winds do take a slightly more NW feed sooner rather than later. If so then we could be in for some fun tonight, if not then Frost it is.....
