Driving back from southport now. Showers of hail & sleet even on the extreme coastline. Some nice flakes in there.

Sleety hail here, looks like that stuff over SW Scotland may make it down here. 2.8c DP 1c.

Not getting my hopes up for tue wed snow, been let down so so many times, and all this talk of marginality makes me even more dubious.

BBC shows rain for coast

They showed rain for the coast today but we've had hail & sleet, around 3 o'clock a heavy hail shower covered everything white and a car skidded off the Disington bypass into the embankment, it was dangerous I was doing 30mph on the dual carriageway! The wind is going to turn northerly overnight so we'll loose the less cold fetch off the Irish Sea that a westerly can bring.

The marginality really is for southern coastal counties, should be fine up here!

Temps have finally dipped to 1oC, reported at Manchester Airport.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
