After a couple of snow showers, it's just been hail and I'm sure a bit of rain at one point. It's like the weather is just teasing! Lol

Well, we got the showers but not the snow despite the cold uppers. It shows how much damage the persistently warm temperatures have done over the last 12 months! The sea is warmer than normal and tips things the wrong side of marginal for snow.

Up to Grizedale today - wintry ppn from the NW looks promising -  mainly for the tops - any reports from our Cumbrian contingent?

Back from Rawtenstall on the train yesterday - saw 5 drops of hail near Chorley - although it was snowing heavily at Turf Moor (Burnley) and Sheffield United in the football reports.

Yes I was at Turf Moor and a few snow showers moved in during the game.

They didn't though but there was a bit of cover on the tops and in Bacup when I got home.

Overall though, another day which promised much but delivered little in a winter which overall has done the same.

Hmmm. We've got cold rain. Did get a snow shower yesterday for 20 mins then just stopped and the wind blew the the clouds over towards the Durham hills.

Nothing wintry overnight here. BBC still not coming to the party for Tuesday showing heavy rain for NW and snow confined to northern England/Scottish borders.

And worryingly they will probably proved to be right.
