A chilly 0.2c here currently, overnight low of -5.6c. Sunny spells currently. Not expecting anything tonight, think we are just far enough south/west to be rather marginal. Bucks/Chilterns may get lucky.

Ooh looking like us snow starved NW Kent folk.may possibly get a little light flurry action then?

Only if you let me have some ;-) If the next run downgrades like this has then shaking a pillow out the window is the next step.. for possibly both of us...

Met warnings have finally gone up for the midlands. Steve called it bang on a few days ago they did indicate though they not sure how north the band will go and how far inland it will travel. Also could be amber warnings coming soon.

Any chance of any of this white stuff reaching me or am I too far west? 22 months and counting...

This would be my summary over the next 24 hours, A band of snow moving east across the region from around 10-11pm tonight-

The milder air in the warm sector will eat into the band from the SW, so coastal West sussex up into Surrey may be sleet & rain on the coast.

London ( west ) North of London, oxfordshire should see heavier bursts.

Kent ( mainly west ) Essex - mainly west probably bursts of light snow.
East kent, east Essex - Suffolk & Norfolk may well just stay dry.

Sussex ( E) probably dry & cold

Sussex (W) rain sleet & snow ( snow in the northern part)

There is a stalling point where it just stops dies & slides away south which looks like straddling NW kent & South Essex- however don't let that excite you its all light or nothing.

Depths- midlands up to 5cm

North west London or SE Oxfordshire - maybe 1-4cm.

The stall zone-  trace - 1cm.

If you like seeing snow falling then chances are you will away from the south, if you like sledging etc take a drive towards Dunstable downs.

Tonight/Tomorrow to me looks like seeing the PPn pretty much die around West London. Perhaps a smattering further South/East of there inland but not much. I don't expect it to reach me at all. Snow Shield still at 100%.

Met O warnings aren't that different to my snow map I posted yesterday morning.

Right on the edge of the Met O warning area for my location.

Nothing this side of the Estuary and clouds breaking up letting more of the sun to break through, can see the cloud bank towards Herne though which is giving them the white stuff, the 22 month wait goes on - March 2013 all is forgiven

Ahh Paul. Hows tricks?

Looks like we are out of the game again eh.

**looks for next cold spell**

Shift that black box to cover Leeds, and I'll agree.   (Briefly invading the SE thread)

Had a bit of snow here at around 5am this morning which left a dusting/covering. To be honest, that's more than I was expecting for the whole of this winter...

Very poor NAE 06Z for much of this region.

Even for the Midlands the snow looks patchy and along with the GFS I do think the SE has no chance. The only areas likely to see snow is NW parts of this region and even that isn't guaranteed!

Ok thank you, hopefully I'm in the game but not counting my chickens to be honest.

Knife edge I'd say for us!

Hi Guys can anyone tell me if Buckinghamshire is covered in here or not as I seem to be the only one from this region cheers in advance

I'm here too :)

I am hopeful over seeing something wintry later this evening here! Just maybe not enough for much accumulations!

Agree. Most recent forecast on News24 looked similar and agrees with TEITS NAE analysis. Poor for most of this region.

A crisp sunny day here in NE Suffolk. Nice. I'm already looking for the next cold spell tbh. Hopefully with more long lasting snow potential.

The

Brilliant summary as ever Steve.

Not looking very likely for me personally but had a bonus this morning with a centimetre or two so can't complain.

Hopefully some others that missed out will see something later.

Based on no more than a hunch, I still think we'll have some more fun and games before winter's over. After all it's snowed here right on the coast in April before (2008).
