Hahahaha in the lady 4hrs my wunderground station has gone from forecasting snow to rain then back to snow again. Sums it up really. Keep the faith!!!

Isn't that something you really shouldn't be sharing with us here!  :D

Temp here is 2.7 with a DP of -1 still dry here

Getting picky in here now. What will happen will happen. Check the radars and look out of the windows.

Council have excess grit not used much this year or end of last ??. Maybe you have been advising the council this year?? :) TBH I would think the council get their forcast from the met or close too, so I dont know why.

Cheeky...! the council get the very latest up to date forecast directly from met office. Nope they would not do that it will just be in the reserves till another winter, where it will come more handy.

Love this post from Output thread Mods - apologies in advance.  Can you turn a blind eye to this homage to the great Rob McElwee?

http://youtu.be/jGA0JtxIuwQ

I remember waiting for this forecast with anticipation.  Netweather had been buzzing with talk of possible snow for the South Coast on the Monday after many snowless years.  When I saw it was Rob McElwee doing the forecast I was sure he'd stick his neck out and make the call for Monday.  Was gutted when I thought the forecast was coming to an end without any mention of Monday, but I should never have doubted the great man!!

Might I also add we should start a campaign to get him posting on here wouldn't that be fab?

The councils grit when its +7c to

a) make sure your car looks **it just after you have cleaned it

b) when your screen wash is frozen it ensures you get poor visibility from the mud

c) aim to drive in front of you and shower loads of small stones at your windscreen

ps wind picking up

This frustrates me with people that live up north, they get snow regularly, even if it just falls without settling, yet they cant understand our crying over no snow at all and seem to think they are hard done by!!!

They dont know how good they have it

Gritters have been deployed in the Croydon area to treat A & B routes

Is that not just because of icy roads ?

Looks like the band to my SW is intensifying and reports from Leicester of heavy snow. Could get interesting around here over the next couple of hours.
