Very light slow rain now and a lot of evaporation prior to the precip reaching the ground going by the radar.

The rain is slow because it probably has only turned to rain at lower levels.

I think the problem at the moment is the flow is not sufficiently se and too much modification off the English Channel, as the low slips further south the winds should start edging more to the se but its whether theres enough precip at that stage.

Evening, we seem to be losing on this one tonight. Maybe if the precipitation arrived an hour or 3 later the very marginal differences - may have been on our side. It's close looking at the charts and the reports tonight. The north part of our area could still be in the game.

Just to confirm that here in Reigate the dewpoint on my weather station has started to drop from +0.1c to -0.5c in last 45 minutes . Problem is temp +3c and little precipitation

Yup, the temp has gone up to 2.9c and the dew down to 0.3c at Reigate Grammar - http://www.weather.rgsinfo.net/index.htm

A few spots of drizzle in woodhatch atm...

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I can confirm very light snow in the Shirley part of Croydon. I had to get my son to confirm this too as it's been 2 years since we had snow here   :D

Yamkin

Lucky you - send it this way!

Just took the dogs out for a walk and it started snowing for a few minutes, followed by sleet as it became lighter. Now stopped.

The temperature had risen since 5pm but it's just started dropping again.

I suspect that weak line of precip that developed through Cambs was part of some sort of small warm sector. That precipitation missed here fortunately but whilst it was forming the DP rose to 1c up at Stansted Airport, back down to 0c again now as of 2020.

It's going to be a rather messy and weak affair though from the looks of things.

Simply too warm, however chilly. You can sense it's not the right conditions. No need to look at dewpoints, it's too damp, too moist. Unless conditions change but as it stands, no weather station or app required.
