Nippy night ahead, 1.5oC *inside* the shed, suspect closer to freezing outside now, clear and dry still will little in the way of a breeze.

Weather forecast for the week ahead.....

Hopefully there will be upgrades..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/feeds/30871063

The BBC forecasts really are pretty misleading with the maximum temperatures they show - they tend to use city centre maximums which are hardly representative of what is really happening. With one breath he is talking about how the cold will win out with wintry showers around, the next the graphics are showing temperatures of 5-7C.

You will prob find the temps are correct. The cold is generally the frost at night. The mention of snow is for northerly areas and to cover themselves.

The forecast stated wintry showers in the east possibly for Thursday as we get a very brief easterly.

I will let you know, but I would put a lot of money on them not being correct ;) BBC always over-do temperatures for my location.

Actually, "suffolkboy" is correct  the BBC maxima are just that - daytime maximums in city centres, i.e. the best case scenario for the majority of people who hate snow and cold.

MetO app now claiming ice warning (just!) for me - currently 1° and clear skies. App also now has a very brief snow flurry Tuesday midday and sleet for Wednesday.

*IF* the UKMO follows the ECM & JMA track ( just updated ) I expect to see a few amber warnings released for this region across the week-

thus far the UKMO raw has been dictating the medicore forecasts , but as it gradually backtracks to the ECMs westerly track so we should find more in the way of snow mentioned...

MO have me down as sleet for wednesday - this is a bold move haha. :shok: upgrades in the short term for our region, it is conducive to snow let's hope we get the PPN - I'd BANK the ECM pronto.

Reckon we could see some convection on that steve? Maybe the odd few showers for those who miss the front?

That blob of very heavy snow over Hull looks like it is heading straight for London / South East, no signs of it weakening on its travels

Very interesting night ahead
