Wow, bizarre hour or so in here, perhaps time for a few to take a break off of the pc and come back later slightly less pent up?!

Very unusual for this area forum, Paul.

5:30 forecast, no mention of significant snowfall across the SE - Map showed nothing but heavy rain, but she mentioned "possible snowfall further inland", stressed uncertainty

They're probably watching the reactions in here..  lol.

Definitely said significant....... They may have new data and decided to drop it...?

I have to be 'que sera' about snow. Honestly, you'll feel much better if you just sit back and relax about it. That way if it does show up, it'll be a nice surprise.

I always remember that the massive Thames streamer we had at the end of 2010 was only predicted to be a small dusting. In fact the best snow events of my life haven't been forecast to be like they were and that in itself shows how unpredictable it is.

If all else fails open your freezer and you can pretend and make mini snowmen out of the 'freezer snow'.

Yeah, barstewards nicked my little snow graphic (light only) for Sunday afternoon. Just light rain all day now. Chilly though throughout the 5-day forecast period, so there's hope maybe for later in the week.

Are you in full riot gear? It all went off like a :bomb: for a bit! Thought everyone would be happy because there might be snow, instead it turned into a boxing match :vava:

Looking at EURO4 tomorrow between 9-12 noon for those just North of London looks best chance for a little snow.

EURO4 barely shows any PPN for region bar maybe South Coast for Sunday.

But let's see what happens.

So, drawing a line under the weirdly crazy spell in here. I'd definitely recommend keeping an eye on the forecasts over the coming days as they're sure to change - particularly the whole rain/snow possibility as it's all very borderline.

For what it's worth right now, the you're looking for blue colours on here for the risk of snow - and the GFS delivers them over the region on Sunday - albeit with less rain/snow than some models are predicting.

It's going to change run to run though and will probably be a nowcasting type event!

Metoffice alert wording about sums it up - may be rain, may be sleet/snow..

A front will move slowly across the area on Sunday, clearing during the early hours of Monday. Rain will be heavy at times, and as cold air cuts beneath the rain-bearing cloud, it may turn to sleet or snow.

Am I right in thinking that the Chilterns are probably the hotspot for this first initial event?

IMBY.

Depends.. both NMM and EURO4 models keep all but the very far SE dry on Sunday

Euro4 12z is out T24 shows the below, supporting some snow to fall. As a showery band moves SE.

Whereas Sunday the PPN not making much inroads bar within 10 miles or so proximity to the coast, as ever this will go to the wire it could go either epically tragic or epically amazing. It's all very sporadic, caveats apply.

BBC evening news forecast did not look like it was offering much in the way of snow for tomorrow, looks more wet only.
