Looks like a band of showers to go through later. BBC sitting on fence on News 24 just saying wintry showers with plenty of sunshine and night time frost

What time is the next saga? charts?

1096 users on this at present whats the record? anybody know?

1516 actually, I would assume it would have been near 5,000 during epic 2010.Looks similarish to few days back dew points generally 0C, north of Redhill. Wintery showers pushing through, from a westerly quadrant - doing the usual breaking up, surface temperatures too high. Will steadily cool though...

Time to do some FAX charts, though we only have out to Saturday though.

Tomorrow

post-17424-0-28549300-1421349292_thumb.g

Light west to north west wind.

Sunny spells and showers, these could fall as a mix of rain, hail or sleet.

Temperatures - 5-7C

Tomorrow night

post-17424-0-43858200-1421349293_thumb.g

Light westerly winds

More showers passing through on disturbances running from west to east. These will be wintry.

Temperatures overnight - -1 to -3C

Saturday

post-17424-0-57754500-1421349294_thumb.g

Light west to south west wind

Dry start, but more showers or long spells or rain, sleet and snow will spread eastwards. Local accumulations possible later in the day, mainly over high ground.

Temperatures - 3-6C

That's all, will wait for the eventual arrival of the other charts.

Gone up then?

It usually does when the latest charts are avaliable

ECM D5 shows a shortwave feature - tracking down the North Sea... I would hazard a guess there would be snow for Sussex, Kent, Essex and parts of East Anglia. Could be of substance. :yahoo:

Certainly chances for snow just about anywhere.

Saturday night

post-17424-0-35232200-1421350526_thumb.g

Light south westerly wind

More showers or longer spells of rain, sleet and snow pushing across the region. Again the risk of accumulations over higher ground.

Temperatures - 1C to -3C depending on the amount of clear skies, a little less cold under the showers.

Sunday

post-17424-0-50184200-1421350527_thumb.g

Light northerly wind

We have an occlusion stretching out of France into our region, there will also be areas of showers moving south from Scotland.

So again the risk of wintry showers or longer spells of snow.

Temperatures - 2-5C

Thats great thank you so much :)

Hi madmuch,

it is not looking bad the recent GFS hopefully its on its own, bear in mind this is 10 days out and it looking certain 7> cold spell even longer, I have noticed over the last few runs that the SE has been turned up a notch if you want some snow. With warmer DPs to the west of this region so potentially quite good place to see some snowfall. Regarding snow you may see some on weekend, been some upgrades. It really will help if you are a few miles inland away from coasts. Initially it might alternate between rain & snow. Further out looks better for something more decent. Btw yes it will have died down by then. :)

@Davewelshboy @kerry_mason potential for an easterly next week. Unfortunately the biggest risk for snow is in the east of the UK.... (WSI Europe Weather) 17m ago.

FAX looks splendid for some proper snow nothing extreme - but we have to start somewhere.

Looks east has snow forecast for Sunday and Monday, temperatures really struggling, just 1s and 2s at the most with a northerly wind. Also wintry showers for the south of the region (Essex for here, but widely across the south east corner) tomorrow afternoon and Saturday more widely across our region.

Getting rather fed up getting my hopes up, I'll have to see it to believe it. Dare I say it will snow in our region over the next 7 days, I loved how the cold spell came from small beginnings the way I like it. :):cold:

A shower moved north east across London from Staines to Romford before dying out. A rash of showers moving east across the Midlands and SW England at the moment.

Wrong disaster movie for me (Armageddon)
