I know everyone is very much aware but blimey is it 'warm' out there. I'm not sure we've ever had temperatures this high in January overnight, but feel free to prove me wrong! Love the random collection of noises that the strong wind gusts make.

temp 11.2 from a max, unless it starts rising again of 11.9 at 8:30, winds still gusting in the 40's. For some reason a lot of xc weather hasn't been up dating.

Just checked outside the back door and does not seem as gusty as it was earlier, still windy, mild and dry, temps have dropped back a bit further to 12.5oC now

A day of sunshine and showers after early rain clears. These showers most likely to be of rain but a little wintriness cannot be ruled out.

Here comes the potential storm, it should be a decent day though with sunny spells, though clouding over later. The time of any wind and rain is still up for debate. Timing dependent on how deep the low gets, a deeper low will be slower and vice verse. Track uncertain too.

Temperatures - 5-7C, though rising during the evening.

Quite 'warm' for a typical January - 14.2C you really do notice the warmness of the air & its not particulary warm either. Exceptionally mild night, you have to go back some years to see such similar balminess.

Wild night out there! Recent gust of 48mph. Mild though at 12.2c.

Same here- knew it would be windy - but not quite as wild as this! Crap weather - hate it.

Same in MK unfortunately I'm expecting a crappy nights sleep here as there is stuff banging and crashing around outside, I'm working tomorrow so I'm certainly not going to feel like a little ray of sunshine in the morning !

I would imagine it's worse on the Coast but nothing compared to up north .....no loss of power or sheds blowing across the road (yet lol) - stay safe everyone :-)

Wind seems to have gone up a notch at the moment, really blowing.

Hope you are remaining calm, is it going to get any worse? It is all over the place here, one minute it is calm, then it is blowing a gale, then you think it is over and then the wind returns! :cc_confused:

Yep been like that here too. Not sure if it will get worse for now, but I expect the cold front to really pack a punch tomorrow, very big temp differences before and after. So I wouldn't rule out a gust front similar to the one in feb last year. Probably some thunder and lightning too.

Very wild here, heavy rain and strong winds. :crazy:  Glad to be indoors now. The temperature is lower than it was at dawn. Was 12.5c now 10.3c and it will continue to fall all day. :cold: :cold:

Morning

 

Lazy start to the day, so had a lie in and was awoken by the sound of wheelie bins dancing up the road. Tad windy with some potent gusts in the mix but overall just windy, no sign of any rain either now or over night, it doe however remain  rather dull and overcast but shows signs or turning brighter to the west. Whilst still mild for the time of year, it is certainly hinting at a small drop in temps already.

Got soaked canceling football game. Wind now dropped and phoebe has popped her head out.

Oh well, a day of DIY and beer beckons now.
