Got gusty here now after that calm interlude early evening, recent gust of 25mph. Minuscule when compared to NW Scotland & Isles.

A little off topic but a holy moly chart from the 18z ensembles for next week.

    - They might need to make a new level of warning, maybe a purple warning!?

I hope it will shift northwards in the future runs. I love storms. It is my second favourite Winter weather type after snow, as long it is not life threatening to anyone.

The 15th storm has been on the models for almost a week now, not going away, and looks to be a real nasty piece of work if it comes off as progged, it may also tip the balance into a proper winter cycle.

Yeah I mean that just wouldn't come off, but if it did, probably 80-100mph wind gusts across a large swathe of the central belt of England and Wales there.

Very windy here in North Wales, I can hear various crashing noises from outside and the 100 foot tall Scots Pine opposite our house looks like it may lose the top 20 feet or so. I would estimate that gusts are in the region of 50-55 mph.

Looking on Flightradar24, there's one hell of an air jam around Dublin Airport and yet more planes crossing the UK to join it.

I have to say, being a severe weather enthusiast, I would love to be up where Liam is, or beyond! I'm a bit jelly. :)
