Big lighting storm pushing across the  Western Isles. close to 150 strikes in the last hour.

Just posted this to my weather page 

 

Highest wind speeds so far 08/1/15 -

Please be aware that this will change constantly and by the time you read this will most likely be out of date. But I want to do this whilst we still have power on will further update to this before midnight. 

Official Highest wind speeds from the Met Office hourly readings.

Stornoway - 45 mph at 8 pm 

South Uist - 58 mph at 9pm

Unofficial Highest wind speeds from various stations 

Hebridean weather point - 60.1 mph

Dell Ness -73.7 mph 

Askernish South Uist - 59 mph since 9am 

Barra Airport - 57 mph

From Skylink weather 

Benbecula - 53 mph at 21:35

Barra Island 73 mph at 21:35

Aird Uig - 76 mph at 21:35

North Rona at - 85 mph at 13:15

Scots are use to this sort of weather.

Maybe than if the Scots are used to life treating storms than how come warnings are issued? I will tell you this that the met office issue warnings for a reason.

Rain moving along very quickly, getting narrower with time and beginning to break up a bit. Wind still increasing.

What's that got to do with storm conditions? No offence but. Considering the severity of weather expected. Blimey!
