On the latest radar update, you can see the low make the shift. The rain has looked like moving east in most updates until now, so the low will start to sink south and and east and the rain/sleet/snow should start to wrap around.

yes the low is about 50 miles further north than I thought it would be, maybe 75 miles but it is running SE so should enter the English Channel east Hants/Sussex area I would think, so still a decent risk of snow at a fair number of areas at low level, and yes the Peak District really could see some quite heavy falls about 3-500ft, maybe 10-15cm is possible on the highest parts.

good old rain here with T of 3.4C and Td of 3C

Nooooo! I should have put my foot down with the missus and stayed at home for Christmas! There better be more snow this winter otherwise its going to be over 2.5 years at least since the last snowfall at home. Enjoy it :)

Being lower down than we are, you have just given me massive hope for snow here! ;)

Starting to sleet here in North Hertfordshire, I'm pretty sure that's all I'll see tonight. That low pivoting, will it actually drift south over the south-east?

The warm sector will move away over night, any more wintry stuff down here will be 8pm onwards at least. Fergie mentioned earlier that even south of the m4 could see something tonight, so don't write it off yet.
