Hey guys! I live on South coast,  haven't seen a flake of snow in years (literally),  is it worth driving over 100 miles to the midlands (an back) to see the elusive snow?

If you could guarentee driving into a snowstorm it would be fun providing you have a 4 wheel drive car. Given fact you could drive 100miles+ and only see rain id say no

Just starting to rain here in Denby, just north of Derby.I guess it could turn to snow should it turn heavier.

The 12:15 radar update shows the weather system moving in with a large amount of it's precipitation already turning to sleet and snow over Wales and Northern Ireland.

To think I was worried about the precipitation being too far north.

Looks like the GFS NMM has beaten the NAE Met Office for track in the northern extent.

Out of interest, what happened to that intense low that was modelled for the 27th? Coming down from the NW dragging cold air behind it I believe was the story when I was last on here before xmas day. Not happening any more?

hi guys, just expecting rain here tonight, if my new weather station is correct current temp is 2.7c with a dew point of 1.6c, all on the wrong side me thinks for any snow.

Biggish Flakes of snow now falling 5 miles west of Shrewsbury. Was rain for a few hours but has changed as it's started to get dark. Exciting. Very wet on the ground

to be honest I don't think West Yorkshire will see any snowfall as such. Think Sheffield south will see some. But seeing latest bbc forecast the snow looks like missing West Yorkshire area

I was afraid of that but to avoid West Yorkshire will require a much more southerly dive of the precipitation than forecast looking at the radar.

We are north of the strongest point but with the precipitation so far north in Ireland it looks like it will reach here.

I have Ghost rain here in St helens... the radar show green just on top of my postcode and no one drop is falling!

It's quite dry air ahead of the rain, so it will be evaporating as it falls. This has the effect of cooling the air...

If that is to be believed, it's quite southerly!
