Big flash lightning now again

Showers are all falling as snow here now even in the lighter outbursts colder temperatures are definetly kicking in.

Shower after shower is falling as rain and/or hail.

 

I apologise for being negative but this is a little pathetic when areas at lower elevation and towards the coast have seen some snow.

The distribution of the wintry mix, is not what was expected. if everywhere was snowier, or less snowy it would be easier to explain.

 

But It is forecast to turn colder over the next few hours.

Torrential hail here on the outskirts in Pentwyn.

Dowlais Top looking pretty white now (but to be honest only what you would expect).

Temperatures forecast to be lowest early hours. Still think for where i am, looking at euro4, between 03:00 and 06:00 looks the best time for snow in lower levels of south east Wales. Big lightning flash as i type.

looking out the back from mine towards cowbridge/Cardiff can see the sky lighting up.....cool  .....

Snowing again here, heavy but small flakes, starting to settle on cars. Ground is soaking though, so will have to snow heavy to stick

Big shower in cardiff. Mainly hail, everything white from it though, should have dragged the temp down that little bit further for later showers

Huge rumbles of thunder, lightning, sleet and hail here in Cardiff. It feels bitterly cold out there compared to earlier, local weather station is still reporting temps of 4.4c.

1.6c after that shower brrrrrr, everything white, hopefully the hail stays on the ground, may help with any potential settling snow later.

Well the ice pellets left a nice covering of white over everything, this may help any snow that may fall later in the night to settle.

Really coming down now. Massive flakes to. Shame Tredegar and highest point traffic cams are off but the rhymney one shows the heads looking very dodgy. Glad I'm home and not out and about.

Looking at the radar it shouldn't be long before the next band of precipitation hits Cardiff. Will be interesting to see what falls from the skies.
