How much snow do you think low ground will get tonight?

Slush fest lol ,but the shower belt that comes around midnight will be mostly snow .

Ian Ferguson mentioned thundersnow for coastal areas I think.

Also there is a line of showers tracking NW of Cardiff with sferics about 20 miles distant from there, and as per the Aberdare report.

bit annoying, sat in Cardiff as in uni at the moment whereas at home (where it rarely ever snows), i am having texts and videos from family in Pembrokeshire where it is currently thundersnow!! typical, but the best time for precipitation in Cardiff looks favoured to be 3am and later when showers look like merging for a longer spell of precipitation for SE Wales and SW Eng. Plenty of come before then mind.

Plenty of lightning visible tonight from the craziness in the Bristol channel! Whatever happens you can't deny it isn't interesting weather! Storm last Friday, this tonight, the storm coming up tomorrow night- keeping us on our toes! Honestly feel we're at the start of a pretty good spell of weather! Blob of precipitation off SW Wales coast that looks to have SE Wales' name on it. Fingers crossed the temps continue to drop and the instability and warm water of the channel beefs it up for a bit of thundersnow later this evening!

If you're in cardiff area, 19:45/19:50 looks the time for a decent shower, hopefully temp and dew point has dropped enough for it to be white not wet!!

Heavy everything in Tenby, right now.

Wintry mix. Some snow in it. Hail settling on cars.

Temps have risen a bit since the snow earlier, and are a bit too mild at the moment around the coast for snow showers, but still a wintry mix , but they are set to fall back later this evening.

Some lightning here just now.

Boom!

Lightning!

About 6/7 miles away...

(if my old ma's counting the seconds between the flash and the thunder is to be believed- is that for real?!)

4c in Cardiff still, need more of a drop, temperature should drop in showers too mind. But may have to wait a bit longer until these showers fall as snow, in the middle of Cardiff anyway.

Raining heavily with occasional hail, gusty winds and no lightning.

I'm growing antsy and exasperated.

Yes count 5 seconds for every 1 mile or 3 seconds per km.

Need evaporative cooling to take effect, this is pretty heavy stuff, and we're only a few degrees above freezing.

Gone very windy suddenly. I moved February 2013 and have just discovered my new lamp posts are absolute rubbish for snow watch.

Dewpoint seems to be dropping, but frustratingly the temp itself has risen to 5.1c. Fingers crossed for later.
