Pity i don"t live close to you i would have a 50 pound bet with you we see a covering of snow this month.  .With Early March being our snowiest Spell most years.,With the effect of ELnino  wearing off plus  strat warming event soon ,we can expect a pretty cold early spring !

I would deff bet u £50 we don't c a covering of snow this month, and that's to lower levels not high ground. I think we r 2 months behind with the seasons so March and April may b colder than average but won't b nothing special

So my second attempt at visiting the Brecon Beacons failed last weekend as a) there was hardly any snow and b) the weather conditions weren't good enough on the day I could go. I had earmarked the final weekend of February, hoping that next week's polar weather would deliver snow again to the mountains, however it looks like by the weekend more mild wet trash will arrive. Truly rubbish!

Who said it had snow by then? Wales aside, a very minor signal by end Tues, eg Cotswolds/Mendips (and bear in mind EC offers solid PPN too readily anyway).

Bullseye. I don't think any of us are going to get excited about that given the letdowns of this winter so far, but it's good to see potential is still there.

Was there any lightning anywhere last night? we had two bright flashes light up the skies followed by power cuts around 4-5am and I'm not sure of any main power supplies near me!

A cold and mostly dry spell from this with plenty of frosts.

Friday night into Saturday looking the best day as far as I`m concerned as that`ll be the coldest, but that will probably change, but GFS is showing light snow.

Not difficult I know, but the next couple of weeks is going to be the best of winter to date. The models are largely in agreement that it will be sustained.

How long? How cold? Dry or PPN? all yet to be revealed, but could be an interesting couple of weeks.

Just an average cold spell of weather is  wot I reckon it will b and tbh dry and cold will suit me perfect I'm fed up of constant rain.  Although 2ft of snow wouldn't b unwelcome lol

At least some cold is forecast. Let's get that in and then hope for some ppn.

Will this Winter finally give us a reward? I do hope so, but not too confident.

Yes Claire coldest period coming up and pity that any lying snow come the weekend will soon melt away due to  the strength of the sun this time of year. Strat warming taking pace soon causing further cooling so at least a 14 day cool/cold spell .

It's a shame it couldn't have happened earlier in the season, but beggars can't be choosers I guess. I'll take any cold on offer at the moment and keep everything crossed.

Good chance of the North and west Wales seeing sleet/snow showers Wednesday as the Wind veers to a North 12_48_preciptype.png?cb=500can this set off a streamer forming interesting radar watching ahead.
