No warning for Saturday on met office website  As for today I would say game over, but the game never even started. Another epic fail.

It's become one of those cold wet grotty days where hibernation becomes a temptation.

Good: that system is holding its intensity and even re-intensifying as it moves south, and there's also some heavy precipitation in the Irish Sea which is moving south-southeast.

Bad: it's increasingly turning to rain (although it's still picking with snow here).

Yes, I noticed that. Not looking too bad for us later! When I made that comment I was talking about the transition from some of the snow to rain in North Wales about an hour ago although, at the moment at least, the snow zone within the system looks to be holding rather than shrinking.

Dowlais Top now turning white, snow just starting again here. Going by where the borders between rain, sleet and snow are on the Netweather radar, the snow line must be around 75-100m.

The snowline this winter has been much higher to normal not a good sign.

Had a slight covering of snow it took it along to settle but now the wind has turned to the north you`d expect something better but its turned to rain and temp gone up from 1.1c to 2.1c makes sense not this winter.

Massively disappointing day. So many reports of snow in different areas...all we had was rain from the word go. Haven't had lying snow since New Years Day 2015 (from the Boxing Day snowfall)

It's back to snow rather than intermittent rain/sleet here. 1.4ºC.

Carl, I know you suffer from SAD and are easily affected by the weather but believe me, sometimes being teased with a patchy covering or having snow falling onto a wet ground with little chance of settling (as we're getting right now) feels even worse than nothing at all! Spring and Summer are on their way and even if weather-wise it's a stinker, we have the light nights and early sunrises (for night owls like myself) to look forward to. :)
