Yellow Warning of Ice for Wales

Yellow Warning of Ice for Wales : Monmouthshire, Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhonnda Cynon Taff, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan, Neath Port Talbot, Powys, Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion & Swansea valid from 2000 Wed 17 Feb to 1000 Thu 18 Feb

personally i think that between now (later today) and Friday are our best chances of any snowflakes falling. but I am a bit confused with METO temp forecasts showing temps as so high 7-9 degrees. as we speak winds are picking up. crossing everything. light rain at moment.

Hail and a thunderstorm woke me up at 3am here in Cardiff. Heavy showers here at the moment with hail, sleet and I'm sure I've seen some wet snowflakes as well. These showers causing some localised flooding in places. Even colder conditions currently pushing into North Wales at the moment. Temperatures falling at Mynydd Llandygai at the moment and I'm sure this webcam is showing snowflakes! (I'm originally from about 2 miles from there) http://www.mynyddphil.co.uk/index/bigpics.html

I'm not sure why the Met Office felt the need to issue that warning.

It's definitely not cold enough for snow here; it's not even snowing at Dowlais Top.

Ice rain, sleet, hail, had a flash of lightning and a couple of rumbles of thunder and strong gusts of wind! Had it all here in the last half hour except actual snow!

The ice rain has covered the cars and it keeps trying to snow!

All we've got here is strong wind/gales, some violent gusts which are hammering the daffs, and fast moving heavy looking shower clouds moving inland.   Not seen one proper flake of snow all winter and doesn't look like we'll get any this week either.  Given up on this winter - just want the spring to get into gear now really.  Hope some of you get a decent covering this week - that would be some consolation.

Been snowing here in Blaenau Ffestiniog for some time. Snow and hail showers intense for 30 or 40 seconds then light, very windy but not a lot of snow on the ground and the forecast air temperature 4-6 degrees wont be conducive to snow settling.

No snow, but a heavy rain and a heavy hail shower this morning. It was enough to leave a slushy coating in the corners.
