Oh goody that means above Llangollen should be snowing now, and around 0C.. I'll take that. Hope it falls for you too though Carl, I'm sure you'll see some wintriness tomorrow night as the showers pile in off the Irish sea. Tonight was always a bit fine cut.

Quite surprised by that, would have thought it would be snow at 250 metres.. that says I'll be traversing 500m tomorrow so I'm sure there will be settling snow at that height already. The only thing is that the precipitation is likely to be light all around that area.

This website will help...if you know the temp and RH (relative humidity) at your location...will give you the dew point reading.

Despite not thinking there would be much in this cold spell, I'm a lot more optimistic tonight. We're in for some seasonal weather, at last! It seems most in Wales with height are getting wintriness already! Maybe my eyes were deceiving me but I'm sure I detected some sleet amongst the heavier bursts of rain here. Still, I'd be surprised if lower levels get anything tonight!

Tomorrow the chances seem better with showers coming off the Irish Sea in the evening. The models suggest a chance of sleet to lower levels in the south, and given the fact things seem a little chillier so far tonight, hopefully that's a good omen for something more snowy!

Anyway, looks as though the heads of the valleys road is getting a good covering! Always a signal that winter is finally arriving! Good luck to everyone this week- but remember, don't be downbeat, it's only the start of this cold spell. The chances are things will get more promising as the cold air digs in. Hopefully a SSW will occur, things fall nicely, and we tap into some cold temperatures from the continent, giving us a chilly February! Been a few years since we've had a really snowy one of those!

Bit fed up to report that we're having plenty of cold rain in west Cardiff. Makes a change from tepid rain I suppose.....

There are plenty of showers headed your way, and temps are falling behind them.
