IM afraid not JAY the centre of the system has warm sector rising 2c ,so we wait for Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday many more snow chances to come! great spell of wintry weather.

But its a modern Polar Low it only has slightly mild sectors :)

Just watching Alex deakin and his forecast looks interesting in the very short term I.e heavy snow showers just about anywhere in south & west Wales Saturday night and sunday morning. But that big low just misses the UK at present tracking into france. However the tail end of the lows showers showing over Wales and the west are of rain anyway even though he said if tracks a bit further north over the core of the UK it would hit the cold air and be snow! So a little confused with that one ........

From an IMBY point of view, I would prefer that low stayed completely out of the way, so we could stay a NNW flow right the way through Monday, although other areas would completely disagree. As if it is close, it might disrupt the wind flow to the north making it dry on Monday.

Tuesday looks interesting as it looks those occlusions have just passed south over Wales.

Has been a very interesting day here in Bwlchgwyn. Max temp +0.4. Heavy snow/hail showers with gusty winds. Depth at the moment around 9cms but some drifts now up to 20 cms.

Current temp exactly zero so expecting a lot more in the next few hours.

Similar depths here, although its difficult to measure due to the drifting.

Here comes the snow again, wind up to 50mph now too. Wild out there.

Very heavy hail here in Cardiff. Some places in the north west (Derbyshire) have had a foot today.

Heavy rain now.

if only the cold air that filtered down earlier today that gave snow earlier was not replaced by this less cold air, we would of had a great night.

For the vast majority of Wales, it seems, yet another example of forecast heavy snow and Met Office warnings amounting to nothing but heavy rain, with our snow being diverted to parts of the country which have already seen heavy snow three or four times this winter.

I suspect that Monday/Tuesday's event will be rain in South Wales.
