well the rain has turned to sleet with small snow as well but looking up bwlch right behind my house can see its falling as snow up there, looks like cold air is starting to find its way here.

As I was saying last night, the beginning of next week looks the most interesting time for snow. Unless you are in Pembrokeshire where a possible dangler could set up Saturday into Sunday and could give snowfall, especially later in the weekend. Early the next week, a shallow low drops southwards to the west of the UK on both the GFS and ECM. It is quite far east on the ECM and this means the precipitation is further inland but also that the further west you are, the more marginal.

Here are some precip charts from both

Tonight looks like most of the shower activity will be in the north and north west with scattered showers elsewhere, mainly in the west. Snow in heavier showers at lower levels. Some may push further inland to give local 2cm accumulations to some.

The forecast into the weekend from the MetOffice is:

Sunshine and wintry showers Friday, mainly rain to low levels. Thereafter, colder northerly winds will bring snow showers to northern parts and windward coasts, but some may push well inland.

BBC Weather App shows no snow for my area at all and no air frosts until Monday.

Some cold spell this is (not) going to be.

Roll on Spring.

You don't half moan mate - I'm about 7/8 miles from you and we've just had a weather warning issued for this evening/tomorrow and periods of heavy snow/light snow for almost 24 hours starting at 19:00 (via MO). Admittedly you might be a little more marginal than me but what you've stated has no truth in it.

About 10 o'clock this morning I woke up to snow falling for a good 15 minutes as you can see below.

Cheer up.
