Euro 4 outlier? - probably. Another upgrade of that nature would put many of us back in the game.

It's only got to: a) upgrade at short notice b) actually happen. Damn!

Amazing lack of consensus at 24hrs out really.

This goes more with the North East theme suggested earlier however

This also goes with things tuning back to snow over a wider areas later including the south as surface winds revert to an easterly and colder upper air edges in.

Temps and Dewpoints closely aligned - also very close (initially midnight then 6am)

You can see why more snow potential in the south later.

Hmm, stalling and dying at about Swansea. Uppers look ok for you at 6am. DPs are marginal.

Will be interesting to see what it produces as it rolls across tomorrow evening. You never know!

There's going to be some prozac in the Midlands thread.

Never say never, Very unlikely though.

Some "sweet spot" with evaporational cooling, and heavy precipitation could do well.

Perhaps as well EURO4 is overdoing precip amounts, if it is snowfall is likely to be more concentrated for the more previously highlighted areas.

Attached is the 18z Euro 4 model for midnight tonight and it's predicted snowfall for the precipitation moving east over Ireland. The other image is the live radar image over Ireland. Many areas are seeing snow, more areas than shown were predicted snow. Maybe an encouraging sign, who knows. The front looks dead.

Watching various weather forecasts on TV, online and reading online posts - in my opinion anytime from 6pm tonight until 6am Wednesday morning Wales as a whole has a chance of snow. After dark is the obvious time, but depends on how quick this front fizzles away when meeting the warm air - so could be rain or snow. Nowcasting event again. Exciting times though!

The radar's showing a small patch of sleet/snow over cardiff. Yet it's as dry as a bone, nothing falling from the sky at all. Not even rain.

Snap! Though I'm sure somebody said before that the radar shows the predicted precipitation and not what's actually happening right then.

A bucket has iced up with water in, but no frost. Still really bitter out there this morning. Maybe it bodes well for later and we'll have a surprise sprinkling, or even better a surprise foot! :)

Clouds are definitely thickening up.

probably going from frozen state [solid ]back to gas state ,happens quite often in winter set ups ,havent got time to explain fully but very frustrating ,certainly looks a snowy sky s /west from here we just need that dice to fall right later this afternoon .the low as started to move a little faster now and an easterly wind is picking up ,we just need that front to pep up and move in , :cold:

The reason why the radar shows precipitation when there is nothing falling from the sky is because of the air.

The precipitation is only light and moving into very cold dry air and this is preventing the precipitation from actually reaching the ground as it evaporates before reaching ground level. You need heavier precipitation for the droplets to reach the ground when the precipitation is moving into a dry cold airmass like today.

Ps. If I was around the Wrexham area, id be excited for tomorrow, looks like it will be a decent event for areas around there.
