Quite an exciting squall line just passed through, no higher gusts than earlier and the obligatory 10 minutes torrential rain.

Temp peaked at 9.9c quite a contrast to the snowy -2.7c this morning!

Almost one inch of rain from the event.

Yes Tony....Had my eye on that line, trying to work out if/when we can expect it over here......

another late one i suspect

Reckon about 2.15 AP for you :) as you say provided it holds = nothing out of the ordinary though..

Woke up in the night with howling wind and hammering rain/hail, thought "that must be a squall line". Some disruption on the roads this morning: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-30824145

Usual suspects getting the "oh well let's hope Feb is better" posts in early on the Mod board.

Last night sounded wild. Haven't checked the weather station data yet for rain totals and wind gust. A paltry 21mph before going to bed. We are quite sheltered here in AberG.

Temps went well up last night to 10.4c now 3c what a yoyo.

Not as stormy as last Friday night here that's for sure, some very high gusts pennines of 101mph and 125mph west Scotland apparently.

A long snow drift survives opposite us,havn`t checked sewhere yet.

Suprising that we just had heavy wet snow in Swansea with temperatures at 8c,Wintry weather really not going to reach all of Wales until Friday Afternoon as winds veer to a N Westerly.

Is the cold still coming next week as the models have changed again looking like more north event than south

To my mind yes. It definitely won't be mild. Quite a bit colder with always the chance of snow for those lucky to be in with a change of snow at t36

Do you mean the models have changed in your opinion or the drama queens posting in the model thread are having a hissy fit because of snow charts at +t72 IMBY and because they are masochists already looking for a breakdown at t120 t240 etc.

Interesting that Ireland thread have reports of sleet and snow in there region from the cold front that will move across Wales tonight ,could have a covering over higher ground tonight.

frequent hail showers here, seems to be cooling the temperatures rapidly as the cold air comes in!

Here it comes folks!!!

Regarding the warm sector over the weekend, if we can get the front to occlude early enough or make the system go further east it will increase the chance of snow :) - but more on that later - details still v.sketchy!
