Keeping my eyes on WunderMap for drops in temp and potential ppn. Looking promising if Sam's post is anything to go by.

We had a bit of sleet here this morning at 350 feet, looking at the hills in the distance I'd say the snow line was in the order of 700 to 800 feet with an almost cloudless sky at the minute.

What are the odds of snow at low levels in the Cardiff/Barry area?

Given the reports of snow in places in like Pembroke and Llanelli, I'd say it's pretty likely to see some flakes (though probably nothing substantial) in the Cardiff area but not until later this evening. I may be wrong though.

We will all see some snow these showers are heavy, more heavy showers moving west to east ,seems that more moving across Ireland now with lightening mixed in.

Lively showers heading in from Ireland. Thunder? Lighting? Snow?

The current band of ppn is going to cause chaos here during the rush hour.

I'm from Morriston so if there is snow in Swansea then there's hope for the rest of us.

Thunder recently near Ammanford, thundersnow in that area then would nt be surprised, just some sleety showers here with snow cover gradually thawing. Did a walk there was about 5cm higher up (200m). Max today just 2.3c although it was 6.4c last night.

Raining here. How odd.

Can only assume it's because the heavier precipitation hasn't got this far east yet. Also (and I could be wrong here) the colder air hasn't made it this far east yet either?

Fingers crossed though everyone gets something to whet the appetite tonight. It's looking as though this COULD just be a starter for us, with the models starting to show consistency for a cold week or two- who knows, maybe a bit longer if we get some favourable stubborn blocking around Greenland. If we don't get anything of note tonight though don't get too down hearted. Those like me at lower levels nearer the coast- hopefully we'll get a few more shots at something a bit more promising before Winter's out! :)
