Yeah but they break up as they come over the Fannaichs, Beinn Dearg, Ben Wyvis, the Strathconon and Strathfarrer hills...

Just the way of it I'm afraid, depending on their intensity and the wind direction they could well make it through alla half an hour ago!

Worth watching this feature for Saturday too:

No warm sectors, an occlusion, a localised easterly flow in an Arctic airstream...

ZOMG its a Norwegian NErly for here on that chart!

Huge blob about ten miles south of me, almost completely missed here :( We've managed a dusting so far despite a couple of heavy snow showers, it's all going horizontal at 30mph

Some of the wee features showing up in a few days times have good potential for the snowstarved east :)

You need to move a bit north. We have 2.5 cm now. No bad for a NWerly

I was just trying to think of a way to set up an alarm that goes off when the next blob is about to hit, cause as much as I need the sleep it's difficult knowing that if you look awa from the radar too long and miss the most amazing snowstorm ever

Evening all,

Needless to say there's no snow here in Crail.

Starry skies and cold despite the keen wind, currently -0.4c.

If it doesn't at least snow here over the weekend, with the northerly in place, then I think Toys'R'Us in Aberdeen is in real danger of being ransacked!

None here for a while either. About two years to be precise.

Haha, I know - tell me about it!

I have a feeling we're gonna get a pasting on Saturday and beyond though....just hope the roads are okay going to Hampden and back.

I'll guess at 7" in my back garden come Wed morning.

Been clear skies for over an hour here and it's allowed the temperature to drop to -0.9/-3.1C. Cloud increasing from the west now though
