Morning Frozen Kilties!  it's -5.5 here just now, that's got to be the lowest temp here for many a year. Lovely! I'll probably have to break the ice on the duck pond later, been a long time since I had to do that! Enjoy the snow, those of you who have it, or will be getting it. Last week's snow is now just a distant memory as we are now back to being decidedly green, albeit with a nice frosty coating!

Not sure what stand off are you referring to, the Met has my locale (which is Southern Britain) down for heavy snow late Tue and Wednesday, or do you mean Southern England?

Charts look quite progressive this morning, especially ECM which brings the Azores/mild sw in by Friday.

Um.

Slightly confused.

Small top up over night here, roads are lethal, although I've not been on the main ones yet. T is -4.3c currently.

Well it did end up being colder than last night. -4.6 at 8 o'clock compared with -3.3 last night. The temperature must have went freefall after half 12 when it was +1.5. Lowest dew point I've recorded as well at -6.6

The covering of wet snow/slush that aberdeen had is now a covering of ice. Pavements and side roads are a nightmare. Take care out there folks.

-5.0C at 8.30am, now risen to a balmy -3.5C. Not looking like much snow forecast for this area this week - a bit disappointing  :nonono:

Glasgow still looks very snowy even in the centre. Hee Haw in Falkirk!

Yep, Ice Rink central in and around Aberdeen/shire this morning.

Forgot to check the overnight low but it was around -2C when we left the house this morning.

As expected, following last nights combination of rain, sleet and snow (graupel-like stuff at around midnight as I let the dog out for her last 'comfort break') everything in Kemnay was frozen solid this morning. No exaggeration, roads, paths, car windscreen, even the car doors were all frozen solid. It took me 10mins to defrost the car and the kids had to use the doors on the drivers side and climb over as the other side weren't for opening without a battle. Took me over an hour to get into work for a normally 20min journey. Obviously been a variation of who got snow and who got rain/sleet going by the road conditions on the way in, as they varied between snow covered and ice covered over relatively short distances.

Don't see anything on the radar. What radar are you looking at?

First complete snow cover of the season yesterday evening...probably about 2" on the ground at home, although much less in the city. Currently cold, crisp and sunny. Will be interesting to see how low the temps dip overnight.
