Getting noisy here, strongest gusts so far pouring through, thanks for the ATC link. Will be interesting to see how this Jet2 flight gets on as it's gusting here stronger than Dublin at present.

Cleared to land. He got lucky in the brief lull.

This likely the last flight of the night to EDI or anywhere in Scotland http://www.flightradar24.com/AWC16U/53aa6e6

Sustained 20mph and latest gust 45mph here.

Similar here, 25mph sustained although maximum gust so far only 42mph but it seems to be ramping up a bit now.

Looks like the worst may be over for the southwest in the next hour or two, for the central belt probably a broadly similar wind profile for the next 6 hours, although possibly stronger gusts around 4-5am, and certainly for eastern areas and the Highlands and Orkney Shetland it looks like the worst will be around 4-6am:

Meanwhile, on Saturday:

Power cuts here in East Wemyss, lights gone out 4 or 5 times now. Buckhaven still lit up though. Wish I could see the big windmill down at Methil!

Cannot believe the weather tonight. Crazy, crazy 5 minute period of thunder, lightning and the strongest gusts I've experienced.

Jeez that squall line is moving quickly, Jura to Stirling in an hour! Looks like it's passing over here, ridiculously intense rain.

Bloody hell! Hail and just saw lightning, mental out there! Wind pulsing from nothing to 40mph and back.

Gusts whistling around outside, hoping this squall makes it over here for a night time light show before I head to bed

Gone almost dead calm in comparison to 20 minutes ago.  Eerily quiet......and with the occasional flash of lightning.

Was similar here. Now piped back up again. Gusty.
