Our Met Office forecast has also just updated and a lot of the precipitation has dissappeared over the next few days (the forecast goes up to Monday).

The flip side is that it would leave us with a lot of wintery sunshine over the weekend which wouldn't be too shabby.

Noticed that myself, Just small amounts of PPN Saturday Morning and that's it for the weekend, clear frosty nights ahead though :cold:

Let's hope next week's Snow doesn't disappear.....Fingers-crossed :cold:

Could still come back our way for the weekend, last Tuesday's snow ebbed and flowed in the forecasts leading up to it...the same for Boxing Day. Not by great amounts and I still rate the overall forecasts for both as pretty successful.

But yes, it's all a bit of a light taster in comparison...the big one is currently beyond the forecast period. That's what we will need to be watching when it comes into view!

Althought it's nothing more than hints at the moment and there's plenty of water to go under the bridge, I've got a feeling that we will be too far east here for the slider come Tues-Wed. You quite often see the GFS overegg the eastward bias of it's weather fronts, normally underestimating the block it's coming against and the pattern slowly backs westward. Unfortunately for us, it hasn't started that far east this time and at this stage, we are in the firing line - that's not a great thing at the moment I don't think.

I'll call it early and take the bullet if it comes my way - but I'm saying now that Tuesday's potential snow event won't make it much further than a line east of West Shropshire/East Wales, down to Berkshire, Swindon, down through very West Hampshire.

but that's all part of the exciment isn't it! atm it makes it to the east coast however pivoting up to the north of England, a correction sw would have it pivoting over us, I feel like we will have at least one shot at snow this coming week

Here's hoping those responsible for keeping us moving on the roads are keeping as up to date with the developing situation as we are...

Snow showers tonight for the midlands looking at latest

bbc forecast.

Has Tuesdays possible event had a downgrade?

The model thread is full of misery and game over posts.

At the moment they are all of the liquid variety which is

annoying as temp is 1c and dp of 0c

Well the model output thread is like a suicide watch at the moment.....if you didn't know and better you would think that we had been promised 2ft of snow and now its gonna just rain and be mild... you even got Ian Ferguson posting that things are very volatile but high confidence in the cold period next week yet still there are some packing the game in and writing off winter..... if was a pram toy seller I would be a millionaire this morning...

I havent got a clue whats going to happen according to the mod thread its rain for us. But looking at the charts it still looks like snow my concern would be the ppn if it reaches our neck of the woods. But all in all havent got a clue. Shannon entropy through the roof lol.
