So currently models are giving us transient snow events next week the devil is in the detail now as the track of the low will change from run to run. Also latest charts improve snow chances for midlanders for next weekend lets hope for even more upgrades for long term prospects. Come on you snowwwwww.

The NW snow risk maps are still showing plenty of scope for snow, not much has changed. Don't worry until the day :-)

Heavy, heavy rain forecast through the region today....*builds ark*

yes, the front with a good squall on it is almost here.

Fun times ahead this week. Looks like the weather might actually do something interesting for once.

Looks like our snow chances have downgraded a touch today looking at the latest models and beeb forecast those with elevation might do well though.

Thanks for reassurance CH!

Game over then?

No way! There are several other possibilities for snow during the next week or so.

Showers of hail, sleet and snow on Tuesday evening and overnight are likely to leave a covering of snow of 3 - 6 cm in places, especially on ground over 100 m but also locally to lower levels too. Icy patches will also form on untreated surfaces. The public should be aware of the risk of tricky driving conditions.http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1421193600&regionName=wm

I mentioned in my recent post "lets hope for up-grades hey!" Well this from the MET OFFICE is a great start :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Although those charts look very promising, BBC Midlands Today don't seem to make much of the snow risk at all.

Who to believe?

It's confusing isn't it?

The MetO are showing 6 hours of snow for Knowle starting at 6pm, but other websites are just mentioning a few 'light showers'.

Place your bets!

Feet on the ground here. Was a bit too far south on Boxing Day, could well end up being a bit too far north this time.

Forecast for here has sproadic light snow showers on and off for Tuesday night. I will place my bets for that scenario at the moment for the Black Country.
